ABOUT US

OUR story...

Total Suburban Creations LLC Started by wanting to make luxury affordable. Since a young child in Norwich Connecticut, the owner John D’Amico-Martinez has always been fascinated with the ocean and its inhabitants. It started with a 55 gallon aquarium for Christmas and a huge learning curve. As anyone who has ever experienced starting up an aquarium, you know the amount of frustrations that followed. After months of research as a 10 year old child, you can imagine the excitement of finally having a thriving ecosystem. The obsessions for the hobby continued to grow and quickly became a passion.

Soon after he acquired two more fish tanks he started learning about the different types of ecosystems and what it takes to make them thrive.

In 2003 Johns Family moved to a small apartment in Fort Lauderdale Florida where he had to put his passion on hold.
In the next coming years he will graduate high school and start working in different types of jobs.   While working in retail and pet stores he felt he needed something more creative and ventured out to seek something worth his effort. John found a job working as a carpenter in the construction field and felt right at home.
He started as an apprentice helper for a kitchen and bathroom renovation company in 2007. He quickly learned how to read blueprints, set layouts, demolition, framing, Plumbing, drywall, setting tiles, and installing vanities and cabinets.

OUR SERVICES:

New Construction - Renovations - Carpentry -
Metal Work - Aquascape

He enjoyed the process of taking the old and outdated spaces and creating updated and luxurious spaces for many years to come. By 2011 He got a job offer working with something that allowed him to do something he was passionate about. He began to work for Living Color Aquariums as a life support specialist in high end aquariums, both artificial and living Reef systems, freshwater systems, and several ponds.

He got to be a part of the installation of several large aquariums, and the weekly maintenance of over 20 accounts.
In 2014 he suffered a terrible injury that left him to give up his position at Living Color and focus on his recovery.
After a year long recovery he found himself getting back into the construction field but this time as part of the company called Structural Roof Systems Inc.
while in this company he learned how to set timber, floor joists, floor and roof decking, roofing insulation, and sheathing.
During this time working for SRS he progressed from a carpenter to a foreman and running his own crew of carpenters.
Several years of working as a carpenter he felt it was time to get back into working with aquariums.

With his old connections from Living Color, he started working part time at a local fish store called Professional Fish Keepers in 2018.
He worked very hard to get back to working with his passion in aquariums again.
In 2019 he will once again move out of the state and start over in Tucson Arizona.
From this moment forward he felt that he was no longer going to work for another company and started working for himself.
He partnered up with another carpenter and started R&J Customs doing a multitude of work.
Jobs include bathroom and kitchen renovations, building home/office additions, and welding fences, gates, and security doors.
At the end of 2022 the time in Arizona was up and began the move back to Florida but this time in the Port Saint Lucie area.
By February 1st, Total Suburban Creations LLC was Formed.

This time by taking all the past knowledge he has acquired over the years and combining them all into one company..
Now with the help of his brother and best friend, this family business has the unlimited potential to become an incredible team for your next project.
Now striving to make every project not only affordable, but to have a great experience creating dreams into reality.
